When a delegation visits from abroad, the gift you give them travels home with them — through the airport, inside a suitcase, and into a home or office on the other side of the world. It represents your organisation in places you will never go.

This guide is for agencies, universities and companies hosting overseas guests, and for those preparing gifts to take to partner organisations abroad.

Three conditions for a gift that has to fly

1. It packs without worry. Anything fragile, heavy, or meant for display becomes a burden for the recipient on the way home. A canvas tote folds flat, has nothing to break, and raises no questions about liquids at security.

2. It is useful once they are home. Display pieces tend to end up on a shelf. A tote is used in every country and needs no explanation.

3. It makes sense without reading Thai. If the whole story lives in Thai text, your guest gets a pretty object with no origin. If the story lives in the picture, anyone can read it.

Let the picture tell the story

Our full-coverage sublimation prints edge to edge with no limit on colours, so a detailed painting can fill the whole panel. The pictures that work best for overseas guests are the ones that say clearly where this is.

• Your organisation's building or grounds — an office, a campus, a historic building
• The city or landscape you belong to — a river, an old quarter, or a place your guests visited on the trip
• Thai architecture or atmosphere that brings Thailand to mind at a glance

Front and back can be designed separately — your building on one side, the city on the other — and your organisation's name can appear in both Thai and English.

The illustrators we work with can paint new artwork from photographs you send. Artwork painted or designed from scratch starts at 200 pieces. If your organisation already has artwork and wants us to adapt it, you can start at 50. There is no separate design fee in either case.

A story the presenter can tell

When a gift is handed over, the presenter usually has a sentence or two. The best sentence says where the gift came from.

Our bags are made in Thailand by artisans from local communities. If the picture on the bag is your building or your city as well, the presenter has the whole story: where the picture is, and who made it.

Small details travellers appreciate

• A trolley sleeve. The Heritage model can have a strap that slides over a suitcase handle, so it does not need carrying separately through the airport. It is a paid add-on.

• Individual clear bags. Every tote is packed in its own clear bag, included in the price, so they are clean and tidy when handed out to the whole group.

If your organisation is the one travelling

For a delegation taking gifts abroad, a tote folds flat and needs no protective wrapping, so it packs easily into the group's luggage. If you would rather send them ahead to the host organisation, we ship internationally; delivery is charged separately from the bags.

Plan back from the arrival date

A visit has a fixed date. Count back from it.

• Settle the quantity and the picture you want, then request a quote
• Proof — after the deposit, we send a computer proof within 3–5 working days
• Allow for internal approval — this is usually the slowest step in an organisation
• Production and delivery — roughly 2–6 weeks after the design is approved, depending on the queue

The minimum is 50 pieces. If this delegation is smaller, keep the rest for the next one: a building or a city is not tied to any date, and without an event name or year on it, one run can serve the whole year. When they run out, we keep your files, so a reprint needs nothing resent.

For government agencies and universities

• Tax invoices are available. Listed prices include VAT; delivery is extra
• No withholding tax — this is a purchase of goods, not a service contract
• Organisations with approved credit terms can start from a purchase order, with no deposit
