When you ask a bag factory for a quote, the question that comes back is usually "how many colours?" That tells you something: they are pricing a screen print, where every colour means another screen and another cost. Full-coverage printing never asks it, because colour count is not a pricing variable.
Neither method is better in every case. They suit different jobs. Here is the honest comparison, including where screen printing genuinely wins.
Where they differ
- What sets the price — screen printing charges by colour count, one screen each. Full-coverage printing charges by size and fabric, and the number of colours makes no difference.
- Gradients — limited in screen printing and only with workarounds; smooth and continuous in a full-coverage print.
- Photographs and painted artwork — not suited to screen printing; well suited to full coverage.
- Printable area — screen printing covers the spots where the screens sit; full coverage runs edge to edge.
- How it feels — screen ink sits on top of the fabric and you can feel it. Sublimation dyes the fibres, so the print never peels or cracks.
- What volume changes — a big screen-printed run spreads the screen setup thinner. A full-coverage print has no setup cost to spread in the first place.
One common misunderstanding: full coverage does not mean the artwork *has* to fill the bag. A small logo on a flat colour is still a full-coverage print, because that flat colour is printed too.
When screen printing is the better choice
We do not take screen-printing work, but if your job looks like this, screen printing is the right answer and we will say so when we talk.
- A one- or two-colour logo on a plain bag — no gradients, no fine detail
- Several thousand pieces where the lowest unit cost decides — the screen setup all but disappears across the run
- A hand-out that is not meant to be kept — nobody expects the recipient to carry it again
If the goal is to spread a logo as widely as possible on the tightest budget, screen printing does that job well.
When full coverage is worth it
- More than three colours, or any gradient — every colour costs more in screen printing and nothing extra here
- Illustration, photography or fine detail — botanicals, Thai textile motifs, a painting of a place
- You want people to actually use it — a bag good enough to leave the house keeps working for your brand for years, unlike one folded into a drawer
- Your corporate colour is dark or specific — our base fabric is white and the colour comes from the print, so we can match your CI without waiting on dyed stock

Four things to ask before you sign a quote
Whichever method and whichever supplier, these four make quotes genuinely comparable.
- Does the price include VAT? Our published prices include VAT and exclude shipping. A quote shown before VAT always looks lower than it is.
- Is there a separate design fee? We never charge one.
- Is there a screen or setup fee? Screen printing usually charges per colour, and that first lump is not in the per-piece price.
- Are the packing bags included? Every bag we ship is individually packed in a clear bag, included in the price.
What we do
We print full-coverage sublimation only. We do not take screen-printing work, because we would rather do one thing deeply than everything adequately.
- Minimum 50 pieces, the same across every model and every type of job
- Production files are AI, PDF or PNG at 150–300 DPI — details in preparing artwork for a sharp print
- A computer design proof within 3–5 working days of the deposit
- A print test on the real fabric from 200 pieces, and a full sample bag from 500 pieces
- Production takes roughly 2–6 weeks from approved design to delivery, depending on the queue
Not sure which method your artwork suits? Send it over and we will look. We reply within 24 hours, every day. You can also try the design studio to see your own artwork on a bag.
If your job suits screen printing better, we will tell you up front. Taking on work that is not ours helps nobody.
